Robert BUTET

“I was surprised by the two accesses from the street, the huge sheds, whose imposing roves seemed to grow, then further still and then lose themselves in dusty sun beams.

I was at the corner of SAINT EUSTACHE, the boulangers and wine merchants were opening their shutters; these red shops with their gas lamps burning, perforated the darkness the length of the grey buildings.

While returning towards the rue de Rivoli, I took care against the porters pressing in from the left and right as they carries the food products to their new owners.
It had become a habit for me to pass the rue Sauval where I would walk in the middle of the trolleys in the middle loading and enjoy having a chat with Charles, "market porter" his head always covered by an imposing white hat with its large brim to protect him from the bad weather. He belonged to the area of fruit and vegetables whose complexity was only equaled by its kindness…

A little further on I would find Robert, a salesman, specialist in paris mushrooms, where I was now in the habit of buying, without much negotiation, these inexpensive food products.”

Today Robert BUTET is 92 years old and we both like to relive old memories :
the moving of Rungis in 1969, the problems adapting, the changing environment, the absence of the street noises. We had become orphans from our mother capital...

In 1985, the company BUTET yielded to its “right arm” Serge PERICHON and it became a family company with the same values that the esteemed and respected name (BUTET) had been associated with: quality since 1912 !

With time and the changes in eating habits, the range of the company evolved/developed to cover the whole range of wild and cultivated mushrooms, cress, baby vegetables, asparagus and all the fine salads (mixed baby leaves, rocket, baby spinach, tatsoi…), edible flowers and old varieties of vegetables.

A dynamic commercial team lead by Olivier PERICHON works now with very varied customers, ranging from retailers to wholesalers, the most reputable delicatessens, to the restaurant trade, and from corner shops to the supermarkets.

The BUTET company now owes over 20% of its turnover to export, and its reputation continues to spread.
